Rare pair of Meissen Schneeballen porcelain lidded vases, Germany, 18th century. Each vase is covered with meticulously applied hand-modeled snowball blossoms (Schneeballen) and decorated with finely painted bird motifs. The lids are topped with figural bird finials, adding to the naturalistic design. Exemplary of Meissen’s innovation and artistry in the 18th century, these vases are significant collector’s pieces.
